My development story

After more than 10 years in journalism, I was ready for new challenges, a new field and a chance to really learn something different. Nashville Software School offered the chance to jump-start that transition to a new life and I've embraced the challenges that have come with taking the leap into a completely different field. Software development was intriguing to me because it offers me the chance to do something I've always enjoyed — understanding how things "tick" and figuring out a better way to achieve something. With my background as a copy editor, I've always enjoyed improving upon an existing product and working to "refactor." And the same adrenaline rush I used to get from being the first to deliver a breaking news story is now the rush I get from squashing a bug in my code or finally get a feature to work.

At Quaver Music, I've continued to grow and hone my skills while developing innovative solutions to address customer service inquires and enhance potential customers' first introduction to our products.
